VERTECO FLUSH MOUNT SPIDER
The Model S503-C F.M.S. fits flush in any 27 1/2” Rotary and fits in any 37-1/2” rotary with the Rib Extensions installed. It comes standard with hydraulic power actuated Slips and covers a pipe range of 2 7/8” – 9-5/8” with Slip and/or Die changes. The changing of Dies and basic disassembly is accomplished without the need for tools. Rated load capacity is 500 tons with a minimum safety factor of greater than 2.25. The Model S503-C F.M.S. complies with all pertinent API Specification 7K and 8c requirements for design, manufacturing and testing.
Specifications
The Dies of this tool are designed to provide a 1" diameter range of grip. This means that, a 4" Die will grip from 4" up to 5" and an 8 5/8" Die would grip from 8 5/8" up to 9 5/8". This feature is most welcome when running a tapered string. The Dies are designed to resist crushing of the pipe; a fact predicted by FEA analysis and well proven, both in the lab and in actual field use.
